• What I enjoy most about being a chiropractic assistant is the opportunity to learn and share with the public the knowledge about how the body can heal itself.  I grew up in the medical model with implicit trust in our family doctor and experienced some unfortunate mishaps within that model.

• What I feel is unique about Vita is our team environment, where everyone is committed to bettering not just the lives of the clients and patients, but our own as well.  It is important for me to contribute to an environment where I know and trust the integrity of all of the members.  We are all doing our best to live consciously, welcome all opportunities for personal growth, and are committed to our patients.

• A little about me: I am a staunch David Gray fan, and recently rediscovered a love for anthropology, of which I am completing a degree in.  My favorite authors are Eckhart Tolle, David Abram, and Robin Sharma.  One of my favorite places is my family cottage on a small lake in Northern Ontario, I try to retreat there every summer.  The healing properties of a natural environment are eloquently explained by Abram's The Spell of the Sensuous.

The better care you take of yourself, the better you are able to care for others.
I was prescribed penicillin every six months during high school for a very simple, recurring throat infection where eventually, the medication produced worse symptoms than the original problem - as I had become immune to several kinds of antibiotics.  Fortunately I made an intuitive decision not to pursue the same road during the last bout, and later learned more about alternative therapies in a medical anthropology class.  Sure enough, the problem went away by itself and has never returned!
